"Hair Is Wardrobe"
(Excerpt from an Editorial)
In a holiday newspaper feature, the topic was a “Season of Glamour.” The article's stated intention was to provide suggestions for a great “holiday wardrobe.” Within its nine pages, the piece highlighted jewelry, shoes, handbags, coats, perfume, and the “little black dress.”
As Vidal Sassoon, the father of modern hairdressing, once said: "Hair is Wardrobe."
Typical of stories such as this focusing on fashion, nowhere did the article even mention the most important feature of one’s attire – hair.
The perfect haircut, color and style is critical to projecting the best overall appearance.
Great hair is the first feature noticed when a woman walks into any room, and it is the one feature that remains forever seared in the memory long after the holiday party has ended and the little black dress is hung up and soon forgotten in the closet. In fact, I once read a survey that asked participants to describe, from memory, people they had recently met. Without exception, the very first thing mentioned was the person’s hair –
the cut, the color, the style.
